The public will get a chance to say goodbye to Carrie Fisher and her equally famous mom, Debbie Reynolds.
As we previously reported, Carrie and Debbie's family plan to bury the two megastars next to each other at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. According to reports, the private memorial service and joint burial have since been scheduled for this Thursday and Friday.
Despite the mother/daughter duo's fame, no celebrities will be giving a eulogy at the private service held at Fisher and Reynolds' Beverly Hills compound. In case you forgot, the pair were next-door neighbors.
Not to mention, Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd will speak ONLY if she feels up for it. This seems to be the case since Billie and the rest of her fam are planning an epic public memorial service — where Meryl Streep has been asked to give the keynote eulogy. Hmmm, very inneresting.
As you may recall, Miz Streep played Carrie in Postcards from the Edge and was a close friend of Debbie's. We mean, Meryl previously presented Reynolds with a humanitarian award a couple of years ago.
While the Oscar winner hasn't been officially locked in as a speaker, other celebs — like Fisher's Star Wars costars (specifically Mark Hamill) — have been contacted by the Fisher family and asked to give an address. It's said George Lucas is likely to attend the event, but probably won't give a eulogy.
Now, since Billie is simply trying to get through the funeral first, there hasn't been a date set for the public service. What we DO know is that it will take place somewhere in Hollywood. Reportedly, Debbie's Singin' The Rain costumes and Carrie's ICONIC SW costumes will both be put on display at the upcoming tribute.
