Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds deserve nothing less.
Following the tragic deaths of Debbie and Carrie, Logo and HBO announced they will be airing multiple tributes to honor the ladies' brilliant legacies.
According to HBO, Ms. Fisher will be remembered with an encore presentation of her HBO Wishful Drinking, a documentary which combines snippets from the actress' autobiographical play, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage. The hilarious 2010 doc was a hit and earned itself two Primetime Emmy nominations.
The special will air again January 1 at 9 p.m. on HBO and is available now on HBO Go.
The marathon is set to run on December 31 at 5 p.m..
To make matters even more special, HBO revealed its documentary on the duo Bright Lights was mostly completed prior to the deaths and will be released sometime in 2017. The network is still trying to figure out the most sensitive time possible to release the doc.
Speaking on the emotional project, HBO Documentary Films president Sheila Nevins explained:
"It's life with Carrie and Debbie. It's about both of them trying to stand upright, both having their frailties — age on the one hand and mental illness on the other. It's a love story about a mother and daughter — they happen to be Carrie and Debbie."
Sounds incredible. We can't wait to see the doc when it's finally released.
Will YOU be tuning in to any of these specials?
