The 15-year-old boy suspected of killing a teenage girl and shooting her mother before turning the gun on himself has died, police said.
Sean Crizer died at the Maryland Shock and Trauma Center from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Howard County police told the Baltimore Sun. Police early Tuesday identified Crizer as their lone suspect in the New Year's Day shooting.
The fatal incident occurred around 2 a.m. in Ellicott City on Sunday, just after Suzanne Zaremba arrived home from a party with her 16-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
The 52-year-old mother was shot when she entered her daughter’s bedroom after she heard a “scuffle” inside, police said. Crizer then allegedly shot the teenage girl before shooting himself in the head.
Charlotte was taken to Howard County General hospital where she died. Her mother was also hospitalized, but has since been released, police said.

Police said that while Crizer and the victim were from the same neighborhood and attended the same school, they’ve yet to uncover any type of relationship between the pair, ABC News reported.
Detectives additionally alleged Crizer is behind at least two burglaries in the same area — they believe the gun used in the shooting was stolen from a residence not far from the crime scene.
Police have not yet been able to determine whether Crizer was targeting Charlotte or her home, according to the news station.Send a Letter to the Editor
