Three Texas men and their dog were found dead after failing to come home from a duck hunting trip together.
Starett Burk, 25, Spencer Hall, 19, and 18-year-old Christian Ruckman were recovered from an area near Carancahua Bay, south of Houston, this weekend.
The three friends set off in a 17-foot boat early Friday morning, and were supposed to be gone only a few hours before disappearing.
There are few details about what may have happened between when they launched and when they were found Saturday by the Coast Guard after Ruckman’s girlfriend reported them missing.
A small craft advisory had been issued and waves in the area were as high as four feet on Friday, leading Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Karl Alejandre to say that weather may have been a factor in the boat capsizing
Officials do not expect foul play, according to KPRC.
A GoFundMe campaign for Burk’s, Hall’s and Ruckman’s, families had raised more than $3,500 as of Monday morning.
Country music duo Maddie and Tae are also helping support the three young men’s grieving families by auctioning off guitars and tickets to their upcoming show in Houston.
