A Virginia waitress says that a white couple concluded their meal by writing “great service don’t tip black people” on their check.
Kelly Carter, a longtime server at Anita’s in D.C. suburb Ashburn, said that the couple said they enjoyed their food before leaving with a racist note underneath the $30.52 receipt for their burritos.
“I looked at the receipt three times is what I did. Because I was shocked. Because I’ve never, never being a server seen that,” she told WRCTV.

Her boss Tom Tellez told the station “I was appalled, though it’s kind of in line with the political landscape.”
The note attracted the attention of the county NAACP chapter, which spread news of the message on social media.
The Loudon County NAACP posted on Twitter that the “best disinfectant for this type of hate” is attention.Send a Letter to the Editor
